Journal Titles That Can’t Be Changed

July 4, 2016

Sometimes a journal title can be in the wrong case  (say ALL-CAPS) – but it cannot be corrected by editing the EndNote reference. This is due a corruption in the Journals Term List.

To fix:

  1. In EndNote, go to menu – Tools: Open Term Lists: Journals Terms List
  2. Click on the journal(s) and click Delete Term.

Note:
If more than one title is affected the whole term list may have corrupted. In this case highlight the first journal, and press [Ctrl]+A on the keyboard to highlight all the terms (on a Mac, this would be ⌘+A) and then click Delete Term. This will reset the whole library term list and allow editng on all titles.
